Description
A comforting Southern-style roasted Vidalia onion with garlic, butter, and seasoning—wrapped in foil and baked to tender perfection.
Ingredients
- 1 large Vidalia onion
- 1 tbsp cubed butter
- 1½ tbsp melted butter
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 tsp brown sugar
- ¼ tsp coarse salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- ¼ tsp dried oregano
- ¼ tsp smoked paprika
- ¼ tsp Old Bay seasoning
Instructions
- Prep the onion by trimming ends and removing the skin.
- Core the center to make a well.
- Place in foil and add cubed butter.
- Mix seasonings with melted butter and pour over.
- Wrap and bake at 375°F for 1 hour.
- Unwrap carefully and pour juices over before serving.
Notes
- Use plant butter for vegan. Add cheese or spice as desired.
