Description

A comforting Southern-style roasted Vidalia onion with garlic, butter, and seasoning—wrapped in foil and baked to tender perfection.


Ingredients

  • 1 large Vidalia onion
  • 1 tbsp cubed butter
  • 1½ tbsp melted butter
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 tsp brown sugar
  • ¼ tsp coarse salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ¼ tsp dried oregano
  • ¼ tsp smoked paprika
  • ¼ tsp Old Bay seasoning

Instructions

  1. Prep the onion by trimming ends and removing the skin.
  2. Core the center to make a well.
  3. Place in foil and add cubed butter.
  4. Mix seasonings with melted butter and pour over.
  5. Wrap and bake at 375°F for 1 hour.
  6. Unwrap carefully and pour juices over before serving.

  • Use plant butter for vegan. Add cheese or spice as desired.
