Description

Crisp on top, moist inside, Grandma’s Thanksgiving stuffing is a classic side dish made with bread, butter, broth, and fresh herbs.


Ingredients

  • 10 cups cubed sourdough or French bread
  • 1 large yellow onion, diced
  • 2 cups celery, chopped
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • 2 tbsp fresh sage
  • 2 tbsp fresh thyme
  • 1 tbsp fresh rosemary
  • Salt and pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and prepare bread cubes.
  2. Sauté onion and celery in butter until tender.
  3. Mix with bread cubes, herbs, seasoning, and broth.
  4. Bake covered 30 minutes, uncover and bake 15 minutes until crisp.

Notes

  • Use stale or toasted bread for the best texture.
  • Add sausage, nuts, or dried fruit for variations.
