Ingredients
Scale
Base Ingredients:
- 1 can (15 oz) cream of coconut
- 1 can (13.5 oz) coconut milk
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
- 1 to 1½ cups white rum (adjust to taste or omit for a non-alcoholic version)
Flavor Enhancers:
- 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
Optional Additions:
- 2 pasteurized egg yolks (for a thicker, eggnog-like texture)
- ½ teaspoon almond extract (for extra depth of flavor)
For Garnish:
- Ground cinnamon or nutmeg
- Cinnamon sticks for stirring
Instructions
1. Blend the Ingredients
- In a high-speed blender, combine the cream of coconut, coconut milk, sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- If using egg yolks, add them now.
- Blend on medium-high speed for 30-45 seconds until smooth.
2. Add the Rum and Adjust Flavor
- Pour in white rum (start with 1 cup, then adjust to taste).
- Blend again for 10-15 seconds to fully incorporate.
3. Chill for Best Flavor
- Transfer the mixture into a glass bottle or airtight container.
- Refrigerate for at least 4 hours (overnight is best for deeper flavor).
4. Serve and Garnish
- Shake the bottle well before serving (separation is natural).
- Pour into small glasses and garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon or a cinnamon stick.
5. Store Properly
- Keep refrigerated for up to 5 days.
- If the mixture thickens too much, stir in a small amount of coconut milk before serving.
Notes
- For a thicker texture, blend in two pasteurized egg yolks.
- For a less sweet version, reduce the amount of sweetened condensed milk slightly.
- For extra spice, add a dash of cloves or star anise.
- To make it kid-friendly, simply omit the rum.
