Description

This Crockpot Cheesy Kielbasa Meal is the ultimate comfort food—hearty, creamy, and loaded with smoky kielbasa, tender baby potatoes, and melted cheddar cheese. It’s an easy set-it-and-forget-it dinner perfect for busy nights, lazy weekends, or feeding a hungry crowd. Rich in flavor and family-approved, it’s a slow cooker classic you’ll want to make on repeat.

Ingredients

Scale

  • 1 pound smoked kielbasa, sliced into ½-inch rounds

  • 4 cups baby potatoes, halved (or substitute with diced russet potatoes)

  • 1 medium yellow onion, chopped

  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup (or cream of chicken)

  • ½ cup sour cream

  • 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese

  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

  • ½ teaspoon paprika

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (optional, for added richness)

Instructions

Step 1 – Prep Your Ingredients:
Wash and halve the baby potatoes. Chop the onion. Slice the kielbasa into ½-inch rounds.

Step 2 – Layer the Crockpot:
Add the potatoes and chopped onions to the bottom of your crockpot. Layer the kielbasa slices over the top.

Step 3 – Mix the Sauce:
In a medium bowl, stir together the cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, garlic powder, paprika, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Pour the sauce evenly over the ingredients in the crockpot.

Step 4 – Cook Low and Slow:
Cover and cook on low for 6 to 7 hours or high for 3 to 4 hours, until the potatoes are soft and fork-tender.

Step 5 – Add the Cheese:
Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top about 15 minutes before serving. Cover and let the cheese melt. Serve hot.

Notes

You can substitute turkey kielbasa for a leaner option.

For a spicier kick, add a pinch of crushed red pepper or swap in spicy kielbasa.

Want it extra creamy? Stir in a little cream cheese during the final 30 minutes.

Make it a full meal by pairing with crusty bread, green beans, or a fresh side salad.
