Description

This pickle ranch sauce combines the creamy richness of ranch dressing with the bold tang of dill pickles. It’s the perfect dip or drizzle for fries, burgers, veggies, and more. Quick to prepare and packed with flavor, this versatile sauce stands out with its balance of garlic, dill, and briny crunch. Make it from scratch or opt for the shortcut version either way, it’ll become your new go-to condiment.

Ingredients

  • 2 TBSP dill pickles, chopped into small pieces
  • ½ cup mayonnaise (preferably full-fat)
  • ½ cup sour cream (preferably full-fat)
  • ½ cup buttermilk
  • 2 tsp pickle juice
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 1 TBSP fresh dill, chopped finely (or 1 tsp dried dill)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. In a small mixing bowl, combine the mayonnaise, sour cream, and buttermilk.
  2. Add pickle juice, garlic powder, and dill. Mix with a whisk until smooth.
  3. Stir in chopped dill pickles for added texture and tang.
  4. Season with salt and pepper, then taste and adjust as needed.
  5. Transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  6. Store in the fridge for up to 7 days.
  7. Shortcut Method:
  8. Use 1½ cups of store-bought ranch dressing as the base.
  9. Mix in 2 tsp pickle juice, ½ tsp garlic powder, 1 TBSP chopped dill (or 1 tsp dried), and salt and pepper to taste.
  10. Add chopped dill pickles and stir until well combined. Chill before serving if desired.

Notes

  • Use refrigerated deli pickles for the freshest flavor.
  • Greek yogurt can replace sour cream for a lighter version.
  • For a dairy-free option, substitute plant-based mayo and sour cream.
  • Thin with a splash of buttermilk if using as a drizzle.
  • Add a touch of hot sauce or cayenne for a spicy variation.
