Description
This Halloween Sangria Recipe is a spooky party drink that combines deep red wine, vodka, raspberry liqueur, apple cider, and fresh fruit. Topped with Sprite or cola, it’s fizzy, fruity, and dramatic especially with the optional dry ice fog effect. Perfect for serving at Halloween parties or any autumn gathering where you want to impress your guests.
Ingredients
- 10 oz fresh blackberries, rinsed
- 10 oz fresh raspberries, rinsed
- 1 cup black grapes, halved if large
- 1 apple, cored and chopped (thin slices or cubes)
- 750 ml red wine (Garnacha or Pinot Noir recommended)
- 1 ½ cups vodka, chilled
- ½ cup raspberry liqueur
- 1 cup apple cider (unfiltered preferred)
- ½ cup pomegranate juice or cranberry juice
- Sprite or cola, for topping just before serving
- Ice cubes, as needed
Instructions
- Prepare the Fruit: Wash and prep the blackberries, raspberries, grapes, and apple. Add all fruit to a large glass pitcher.
- Add the Liquids: Pour in the red wine, vodka, raspberry liqueur, apple cider, and juice. Stir gently until combined.
- Chill the Sangria: Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 4 hours for maximum flavor infusion.
- Serve with Fizz: To serve, fill glasses with ice, pour halfway with sangria, and top with Sprite or cola just before serving to keep the bubbles fresh.
Notes
- Use low-tannin red wines like Garnacha, Rioja, or Pinot Noir for the smoothest flavor.
- For a spooky presentation, add a small piece of dry ice to each glass (handle with tongs, never bare hands). Wait until the fog effect fades before drinking.
- Swap vodka for brandy if you prefer a more traditional sangria taste.
- To make it non-alcoholic, replace wine and vodka with pomegranate and grape juice.
- Best enjoyed the day it’s made; don’t prepare more than 24 hours in advance.
