Description

This cloud matcha recipe creates a stunning, whipped green tea drink layered over chilled coconut water and ice. With just four ingredients, it blends creamy coconut milk with vibrant ceremonial matcha for a light, dairy-free refreshment that’s as beautiful as it is energizing. Perfect for warm days or mindful mornings, this frothy drink offers a calm focus without caffeine crashes.

Ingredients

  • 4g ceremonial-grade matcha (sifted)
  • 100ml full-fat coconut milk (chilled)
  • 200ml coconut water (chilled)
  • Ice (enough to fill half your glass)
  • Optional: ¼ tsp matcha powder for garnish

Instructions

  1. Sift 4g of ceremonial matcha into a small bowl to remove clumps.
  2. Add 100ml chilled full-fat coconut milk.
  3. Use an electric milk frother or whisk to whip the mixture for 30–60 seconds, until thick, airy, and creamy.
  4. Fill a tall glass halfway with ice.
  5. Pour 200ml of chilled coconut water over the ice, filling about ⅔ of the glass.
  6. Gently spoon or pour the whipped matcha mixture on top to create a layered effect.
  7. Optionally, dust a small amount of matcha powder on top for garnish.
  8. Serve immediately. Stir before drinking and enjoy the creamy matcha fusion.

Notes

  • For a sweeter version, add 1–2 teaspoons of maple syrup to the whipped mixture.
  • Oat milk (barista-style) can substitute coconut milk for a lighter foam.
  • This drink is best consumed fresh before the foam starts settling.
  • For visual impact, pour the whipped layer gently over the back of a spoon.
