Description

Cool off with this vibrant Blackberry Lemonade Summer Drink! Fresh blackberries and tangy lemon juice come together for a refreshingly sweet, nonalcoholic beverage perfect for sunny days, picnics, and backyard barbecues. Easy to make, beautifully colorful, and naturally crowd-pleasing!

Ingredients

Scale

  • 1 cup fresh blackberries (plus extra for garnish)

  • ¼ cup water

  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (from about 56 lemons)

  • ¾ cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)

  • 3 cups cold water

  • 1 cup ice cubes (plus extra for serving)

  • Lemon slices, for garnish

  • Fresh mint leaves (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Make the Blackberry Puree:
Place the blackberries and ¼ cup of water into a blender. Blend until smooth. Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a bowl, pressing with a spoon to extract the juice and discard the seeds.

  2. Mix the Lemonade:
In a large pitcher, stir together the freshly squeezed lemon juice and granulated sugar until the sugar is fully dissolved. Add the strained blackberry puree and mix well.

  3. Add Water and Ice:
Pour the 3 cups of cold water into the pitcher and stir to combine. Add 1 cup of ice cubes directly into the pitcher or to each serving glass.

  4. Serve and Garnish:
Pour the blackberry lemonade into glasses filled with ice. Garnish with lemon slices, fresh blackberries, and a sprig of mint if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

Make Ahead: You can prepare the blackberry lemonade up to 1 day in advance. Keep it refrigerated and add ice just before serving.

Adjust Sweetness: Taste before serving; add more sugar or lemon juice depending on your sweetness/tartness preference.

Make It Sparkling: Substitute some of the cold water with club soda or sparkling water for a fizzy version.

Frozen Blackberries: If using frozen blackberries, thaw them first for easier blending.
