  • Diet: Gluten Free

Description

This Black Label Chocolate Sauce is rich, silky, and indulgent, perfect for drizzling over ice cream, pancakes, brownies, and more. Made with high-quality dark chocolate, this homemade sauce has an intense chocolate flavor and a smooth, glossy finish. It’s easy to make and can be customized for dairy-free, keto, or spiced variations.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients:

  • 6 oz (170g) dark chocolate (70% or higher), finely chopped
  • ¼ cup (56g) unsalted butter (or coconut oil for a dairy-free option)
  • ¼ cup (60ml) maple syrup or honey (or a sugar-free sweetener for keto)
  • ¼ cup (20g) unsweetened cocoa powder, sifted
  • ½ cup (120ml) heavy cream (or full-fat coconut cream for dairy-free)
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • ⅛ tsp sea salt

Instructions

Step 1: Melt the Chocolate

  1. In a heatproof bowl, combine the chopped dark chocolate and butter.
  2. Place the bowl over a simmering pot of water (double boiler method) and stir occasionally until melted and smooth.

Step 2: Add Cocoa & Sweetener

  1. Remove the bowl from heat and whisk in the cocoa powder until fully incorporated.
  2. Stir in the maple syrup (or sweetener), mixing well to dissolve completely.

Step 3: Incorporate the Cream & Flavorings

  1. Slowly pour in the heavy cream while whisking constantly to create a silky texture.
  2. Add the vanilla extract and sea salt, stirring until smooth and well combined.

Step 4: Adjust Consistency & Serve

  1. If the sauce is too thick, add a tablespoon of warm milk or cream and stir until desired consistency is reached.
  2. Let it cool slightly before drizzling over desserts or transferring to a jar for storage.

Notes

  • Dairy-Free/Vegan: Substitute butter with coconut oil and heavy cream with coconut cream.
  • Keto-Friendly: Use monk fruit or erythritol instead of maple syrup.
  • Flavor Variations: Add cinnamon, espresso powder, or orange zest for extra depth.
  • Storage: Keep refrigerated in an airtight jar for up to 2 weeks. Reheat gently before serving.
